Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nina Stoyanova Yancheva - Petrova, MD was born in 1975 in Sofia. She completed her secondary education with honors in 1992 at the 22nd secondary school "G.S.Rakovski". In 1998 she also graduated with honors in Medicine at the Medical University of Sofia. She graduated from Medical Sciences in Sofia. Immediately after graduation until January 2000 she worked as a Physician-Researcher at the Institute of Experimental Morphology and Anthropology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. After winning a competition for an assistant professorship, from January 2000 he was in the Department of Infectious Diseases, Parasitology and Tropical Medicine of MU-Sofia, where he successively became senior and chief assistant professor. In November 2003 he acquired a specialty in Medical Parasitology and in December 2009 he acquired a second specialty in Infectious Diseases. In July 2015, Dr. Yancheva successfully defended her dissertation on "Complications of antiretroviral therapy in HIV positive patients". In June 2020, she was habilitated as Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at the same Department. Since the end of November 2020 he is Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Parasitology and Tropical Medicine at MU-Sofia.

Since 2008, Dr. Yancheva is a doctor in the Acquired Immunodeficiency Unit of the Hospital for Acquired Immunodeficiency of Prof. Iv. Kirov, and since January 2017 she is the Head of the same Unit. The scientific activity of Assoc. 100 publications in Bulgarian and foreign journals, participation in 7 textbooks and over 110 participations in national and international congresses and conferences. He has conducted trainings in the field of HIV/AIDS in France, Belarus, Croatia, Germany, Italy, etc.

In 2019, Nina Stoyanova Yancheva-Petrova, MD was awarded by the National Patients' Organization with the award "Doctor with care in the treatment of patients with HIV" at the National MEDICAL AWARDS.
