Излагането на замърсяване на въздуха вътре в къщи от използването на дърва или въглища за готвене и отопление е свързано с по-висок риск от смърт от инфарк и инсулт, според проучване от Оксфордския университет и изследователи в Китай.

Long-term exposure to high levels of road traffic and ozone significantly increases the risk of asthma symptoms, asthma attacks or the need for use of asthma medications, according to a new study published in the European Respiratory Journal
The study strengthens the evidence from previous studies on the link between long-term exposure to outdoor pollution and asthma in adults.
It also offers new insights in to what the underlying mechanisms are, by examining the concentration of 8-isoprostane (8-iso), which is exhaled in the breath and believed to be a biological marker of tissue damage in the lungs.

Дългосрочната експозиция на високи нива на автомобилен трафик и на озон значително увеличава риска от симптоми на астма, астматични пристъпи или необходимост от употреба на лекарства за астма, според ново проучване, публикувано в European Respiratory Journal
Проучването засилва данните от  предишни проучвания за връзката между дългосрочното излагане на замърсяване на открито и астма при възрастни.
То също така предлага нови прозрения за това, кои са основните механизми, като изследва концентрацията на 8-изопростан, която се издишва от белите дробове и се смята, че е биологичен маркер за увреждане на тъканите в белите дробове.
